This throws her into a major crisis, as the secret nude paintings of her ultimate favorite, Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Wilgrave, which she has been creating there, are in danger of being discovered. As Eloise tries to retrieve her paintings just before the new steward arrives, she runs right into him on the staircase…! “You’ve never seen the model in person, have you, Miss Eloise. He’s not this small.” After that day, Eloise and the other Ryan—a man with the same name whom she never expected to meet—find themselves continually entangled, and eventually, they begin to fall for one another…!

I originally picked this up and dropped it immediately because of the anachronisms. Regency style, contemporary language, 20th-century style combat. But I am letting it be more fantasy than historical fiction, so my brain can enjoy it now.

And honestly? This manhwa is genuinely good. The high rating is well deserved the writing, the pacing, the character work, the artistic references, all of it comes together beautifully. You don’t have to love everything, sure, but at least try to be a bit more laid back about it. Not every story needs to be ripped apart just because it doesn’t fit someone’s personal taste.

Some people really need to stop judging a whole story after skimming one chapter and projecting their own hang-
-ups onto the characters. If you actually read past the intro, the FL has depth, growth and clear motivation, she’s far from whatever nonsense people throw at her. And calling her “trash” or “shameless” says way more about the commenter than about the character.
Maybe instead of ranting about things they clearly didn’t understand, they should try reading the chapters properly. It helps. A lot.

I absolutely love this manhwa! Easily my top read of 2025 so far. All 24 chapters I’ve read were wonderful. The subtle references to well-known masterpieces are such a charming touch.
Solid 10/10 The FL is incredibly likeable and the ML is a fantastic character as well.

ITS SO GOOD, best thing ive read in a hot minute, and i have really high hopes for this as the art is amazinggg and i love how the artist references famous historical pieces its so fresh and its comical too, and i also loveeee how their feeling are described and expressed so well. the ml also has his flaws and the fl is actually a normal person, not op and their characters r written soo well i love it sm 10/10 this might be my new fav manhwa

Good art, good story, good characters. ML is a good dude. FL is not some sniveling, whiny, weakling. She’s competent, clever, and isn’t an overpowered mary sue but also isn’t a complete damsel in distress either.

I’m really irritated about so many readers and fictive characters categorizing completely harmless drawings of unclothed people (judging from the common not-suggestive poses of those drawings in this manhwa at least) not as pieces of art but p*rn…
In Europe you can find statues of undressed people, also of children/cherubs and even old folks everywhere in our cities, in museums, at cemetries (!), nude paintings in churches and art galleries, caricatures of of nude people in daily newspapers… why do people even start to think of s*x whenever they see a little bit of naked skin?

Anyway I commented too early I mean only red chap 1, but really the guy in cover gave me a really great impression ‘Not only are you a theif, but also a perverted and lecherous woman’ – very well said this woman won’t be able to handle someone else doing this shit with her face on it, but being on cover he is ML -_- meh

I have a question for FL, would you like it if a man whose existence you do not know of spends his time drawing your nudes? How would you feel? Even if he acts harmless?
This is really indecent and feels creepy, this FL is pathetic, I get she admires him n all but this is just really invasive, unethical, and disrespectful.
I bet if she were a side character, she would’ve received some really good backlash, but having the FL aura/halo/role, she’ll have a good time.
