She is doing what she was conditioned to do, as frustrating as it might be. Maxi only left the duchy because Riftan came for her (she should’ve moved to Anatol after Riftan left for the dragon campaign, but the duke wouldn’t let her, even though it was an unusual choice for a married woman to remain in her family home), not because she overcame her trauma and fears. As for Riftan, his story is currently on preorder and is translated into English! I know it will be available for purchase on Amazon. *Highly* recommend reading it. Riftan’s character makes a lot of sense when you know his backstory. You can also find the translated novels for purchase on Amazon too, in case people were looking. Just search “Under the Oak Tree,” and the volumes should come up. We’re getting close to the end of Book 1 now. 🙂
Bruh it’s chapter 145 and she still has no backbone. Like at least stay at the princess castle. Even if he was divorcing her at least she wouldn’t be treated like crap at her families home. Like she knows magic now she wouldn’t be helpless without them.

Aside from the total stupidity of her and the others (including the princess), technically the father has no legal power over her, her husband does!!! According to medieval logic this is “kidnapping” and She cannot decide on her own initiative to distance herself from her husband or divorce him (because she is a woman) besides, her Husband is a war hero… This is the usual mistake that authors make to lengthen the story and create drama, adding illogical events.
@MangaLover313 , Even if Riftan is a war hero, in the eyes of that old and miserable idiot he is just a nobody, and the gossip about him and the princess, he thinks that Riftan will divorce Maxi soon to be a prince, the old man thinks he is superior to him if he soon becomes related to the king, he thinks he can do anything to Maxi, and I think Roseta is evil like that miserable old man, but Maxi is also weak, she lets herself be manipulated and mistreated by that old scum, I wish she were a little braver and tell everything what that scum does to her to Riftan because he’s her husband
Yes, they’re half-sisters. Maxi’s mother passed away when she was very young, and the duke remarried. Rosetta was born from that marriage. She’s Maxi’s younger sister. 🙂
I am still into this story and want to see it play out but OMG. Like as a couple, get your communication levels up. Is Riftan such a hothead that no one in his life has pointed out that his wife suffers from insecurity? He clearly sucks at reading people so someone should jump in and give him a clue. Ruth is the one that comes closest to doing so but even he like holds off.
