Also, didn’t this guy totally overreact in regard to his mother? His mother might have been a little clingy, but we didn’t see any actual overstepping like grabby hands or suspiciously many smoochies from her…
Saying that he didn’t like women because they might be dependent on him is a bit of a red flag, considering that his wife might get sick/disabled one day and in need of caretaking – what if he sends her away then too?
And wouldn’t he also neglect his own children even as babies because of his dislike of “dependence”, denying them attention for years while they grow up?
You need to read the chapter again because you missed alot if that what you got out of this what the mother was doing crossed alot of boundaries and was replacing her husband for her son because her husband would not love her the way she wanted and then wanted her son world to revolve around her and only her.

Don’t forget that the male lead was telling this story from his personal perspective! HE might be the only one thinking that his mother wanted him to replace his father – but what we see in the panels and the way she talks to him does not confirm this view of things. We also didn’t see her crossing any boundaries in the flashback.
