This is illogical. If the water penance (consisting of staying under cold water for a bit or what? This is not clearly explained at all.) could end with death of the saintess, would such a ruthless and power-hungry high priest really risk it? Or did he rig the penance so she would survive without fail?
I wished there were some intrigues and tricks in this story, not just all brainless emo drama…
And even after that flower-exchange symbolizing marriage, Faris killed her in the past timeline? He surely knew she was forced to whip him, she was crying ugly all over and bruised too.
I guess the killing (seemingly slitting her throat) was an accident? For a supposedly great fighter, deadly accidents like this shouldn’t happen though… Stupid.
