   straightforwardly speaking this is a childish, depthless and cliched story that wouldn’t attract any attention if it weren’t for the absolutely gorgeous art. however it does have some other qualities, FL’s friendship with OGVillainess is such a delight, and despite my personal preference of Lari (FL) going the yuri route and romancing Eva (OGVillainess) instead, the romance with the Duke is cute too, tho rather uninteresting. FL is actually quite likeable, and I do think the author is handling the cliched storyline better than most, since it keeps within the boundaries of reasonability and logical thinking (meaning most characters are not unreasonable/stupid/illogical besides the villainess herself. the plot relies ln that dramatic villany heavily so I guess the author wasn’t smart enough to fix that too). The translation is quite good, but. I wouldn’t recommend the read since you, me and everyone here have already read multiple versions of this before and there’s quite literally nothing creative or innovative about it to warrant wasting ur time.

   I love this story so far, and especially the “villainess”. In my opnion it’s totally okay to have a male lead too in such romance stories. But why does it have to be the villainess’ brother – basically “by default”?
   Why aren’t there any other men interested in the female lead or pitying her and trying to help her, despite being able to watch how badly she’s being treated by her own betrothed childhood friend at every ball and gathering? Scum society?
   In chapter 8, we learn that the male lead of this story was also the original male lead, who would fall for the original female b*tch… We aren’t told how this came about in the original story, since they seemingly haven’t even met yet – which is very unbelievable though.
   Why is it totally okay in the eyes of the female lead (who remembers how society and patriarchy works in our world) that the male lead of the story believed false rumors and slanders about his own sister who he should know better, and why is it overlooked that he now reduces his sister’s allowance as the Duke for stupid reasons?
   We never learn how the original story would have gone and how he would fall for the original female b*tch, which is a bit sad. It seems this male lead knows nothing about other nobles, their networks and society in general, and he never participates in any nobles’ gatherings so far, even though he became Duke when he was young – how can that even be?
   Plus it also annoys me a bit how the female lead always goes on about his good-looking face, but doesn’t seem interested in what he actually does in his position or what he’s interested in as hobbies or the like at all 🙁
