@MiscMech you know you can always be honest and all like that right… but that only limited when you are a normal person only… not when you have position like him… a king/prince like him must never truly honest(in other words they must be sly even a bit) or disgusting people will make sure to use him to the fullest for themselves(especially those nobles in these kind of story)…

I wouldn’t be upset if he just denied them outright – but he had to put stipulations on it and he didn’t even tell them to the Empress. This is the empress’s life, she’s the one he’d be helping out. Doesn’t she deserve a say in the matter.
It’s also the way he’s acting entitled to FL’s time and attention. She’s the empress’ exclusive maid but he’s not going to the empress wrt her but rather going around her back. It’s like if a manager from one department of a company just went ahead and poached an employee under another sector for a project without even a “by-your-leave”. The empress’ authority is already shaky, but he isn’t hesitating to undermine it in this way.

I DO blame him and his father for choosing “not to take a side”. There’s a saying that those who are silent in the face of injustice side with the oppressor.
Our empress literally had a panic attack and fainted just being in the room with the aunt. The grand duchess is allowed to abuse her powers to threaten other nobles. She even has control of the palace servants and palace affairs. Saying they’re being fair by not standing against her… pretty much means they just don’t want to deal with the hassle. By allowing this to go on, they send a message to her and her supporters that the empress has no one on her side – that they can mess with her freely. It’s tacit approval of her actions.
If her husband couldn’t protect her from his own sister, he should’ve just given up on being with her since it’s his relationship with her that put her in this situation to begin with.
Ugh I can’t help but find the crown prince annoying.
(And not just because I hold yuri in my heart)
Like, the blatant manipulation, offering aid but only with strings attached, and going through FL while pretty much openly disrespecting her majesty.
