I’m struggling to keep up here. If I followed along correctly, Valicius made a deal when he died the first time in this story, basically taking out a loan with the demon so he can live again…? So now he’s paid off his life’s debt/loan in the currency of souls? But then what is the current Gloomy (Valicius incarnate) dying for? Did the demon kill him or the vampire? If it was the demon then did Valicius incarnate ask for another favor that I missed – one besides preserving his new life?
