I love how MC doesn´t just go “The 17th cycle hasn´t broken down mentally yet, what´s going on???” and then follows with “No, doesn´t matter! Priorities!”
Like, it DOES make sense narratively to have a char not go 1+1=2, especially when the stakes are high (like your beloved unknowingly drinking soul poison), but it´s SOOOOOOOO often that the author then buries the moment and drags it out -.- By the gods I L-O-V-E how you can HEAR the gears click into place, and if we want we can even interpret her asking Terry “Did you come here to die?” as that final, desperate try to halt the gears of cruel truth.
Cause she knows the story. Knows the cycles. Knows the end. Knows the person at the end of it all, mind and heart included. So what if he isn´t the “17th”, but instead the “—-“?
The author and artists did so so so so well TwT I hope they all got proper rest and pay, overwork and wrist injuries are no joke T.T
YESS i love when they dont “dumb” her down during scenes like this. Also, SPOILERS (saw this on a diff chapter) you’re actualy spot on, iirc this isn’t the 17th regression, its the 117th and i think the Thesilid we saw with black hair is the 199th, or smth like that. I saw someone explain on a different chapter (can’t remember which one tho)
I just realized this if he’s not the 17th regression theslid where’s the original 17th regression? Did he hijacked the 17th regression because Aillete exist there?
I think he sorta merged with the 17th. the soul of the #th regression took over the 17th’s body while partially losing his memories and then slowly remembered until he fully remembered what # he actually was.

I understand he wants it all to end, but like…also… doesn’t he know that her presence could change his fate, that she’s a shard of hope?
