why are we still mad at him when he’s doing everything right. we’re in this situation.. sureeee.

but everytime he questions how he has treated her in the past he acknowledges what he has done wrong and then immediately explains his thoughts and says he’s sorry, tries to make up for it in some cases. the man has taken every single step to try and keep her safe from jealous women, to stop her being humiliated, attacked and robbed. they just burned down her house after he said you should really come live with me, it would be safer. HE WAS RIGHT TO OFFER.

i just dont understand how you can be like yeah but he’s a terrible person for not interacting with his child bride he was forced to marry so no matter what he does he sucks. its weird.

“people do NOT change like that” who’s to say he hasnt been like this the entire time. who says he’s changing. feeling guilty you were forced to marry a 7 year old? VALID. neither of them were happy with that, neither of them wanted to be there, she didnt fucking go see him in those 10 years either. she was just as busy as he was. and his father told her not to sure but like whats to say his father would even let him see her. also why are we mad if he WAS changing, how dare he be a better person 10 years later. girl..

im just binging this and slowly going insane.. none of this matters, neither of them care anymore, they’re fine with how things are, she’s happy at least, he’s still struggling. why is it so important he’s a bad person, that none of his actions mean anything now because of the past. move onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

So this super-busy “husband” even did receive all the letters from his wife, decided to not reply every single time so that he could just distract himself from feeling guilty…
Heck, he even made up a story about a fake lover instead of reminding everyone that he was legally married and inviting his wife occasionally…
I don’t get why the author decided that such a 100% neglective guy would be able to suddenly become super caring?
Real people do NOT change like that.

You missed the part where when he received the first letter with flowers, he had received many flowers and items that were drugged and told his butler he didn’t want to see/get given any more after that. Hence, he didn’t realise they were from her/didn’t get the rest of the letters due to the other horny noble women.

Agree, even with ehat Jubilee said, he’s just too dismissive of her entire existence to make up for it all now! Misunderstandings are weak.
