In the novel while he’s in the carriage talking about this he says he can’t even remember sleeping with the concubine. He has only ever desired his wife and one night after he drank a drink that didn’t feel right, it was reported to him by his aides that he had been in the bedroom with her the next morning.
Why couldn’t they have added that line here, he’s moved up from Trash father to semi trash father for me.
