First of all, I agree that what they did was reckless, and that the emperor’s actions were driven by emotion. However, they don’t know the past and future that Shuelina has endured. The damage and trauma are far too much for a child who only longs for love.

If they were to actual care for her as much as you say, they would actually consider what SHE wants and RESPECT her wishes. This is like, the basic thing you do for the people you love. Instead they continuously pressure her to like them and/or spend time with them without getting rid of the person who has been harming her her entire life, then and now. They KNOW it’s dangerous to do that to her. They KNOW she’ll be the one to suffer for it. But they don’t give a shit, because for them, pacifing their egos and “longing” is more important.
