Ok so, maybe the emperor was under a spell, but also I think maybe since the other Shuelina had her powers stolen by the other girl, they didn’t believe she was their daughter, maybe that empress and her child manipulated them into thinking that Shuelina was making up being the princess or something

It is likely that they were under the same spell that made the duke confess when they rejected her in the past life, he doesn’t seem like a bad person so far. However, he is still not a good father, he is only thinking about himself and not about ShuShu and how she will feel. What if he has found her now, she is in danger even when far from the empress but he wants to bring her back with no preparation to protect her. A weak minded and powerless emperor is not a good leader and will only bring misfortune to the people close to him because of the power struggle. Them knowing that the princess is alive proves the empress lied but he has done nothing to her. I much prefer a tirant who knows how to keep the court in check.

Damn dude I know it’s really hard to sympathize with him rn, but I felt so damn bad for the dude in the novel. Like it just gets so much worse contextually for him as it rolls on. He definitely needed to be stronger/ less trusting, but he isn’t a bad person- he’s just well, a normal person.
He isn’t some genius like the people in these stories always seem to be. I guess that’s why I felt so bad for him- idk if they’re going to lean more towards his characterization in the novel but shit man, he really did his best and still lost his kid. 😞

LadyLombardy did you not read the 22 previous chapters? he had no reason to know the gender the queen went missing while still pregnant and was found dead and then the other emperoress kidnapped the baby and I don’t know sold her to the orphanage and fabricated evidence that it died even though he did not believe the baby was dead he’s not able to find concrete evidence to where it was and he couldn’t track her through their powers because the other empress was taking them for her own daughter

This buffoon pretends to miss his child so desperately but don’t even know her gender, or where/how the fuck she went missing. He lets his bitch wife do whatever she wants fully knowing (or strongly suspecting) it was her to stash his daughter away! And THEN when someone takes care of the child and forge a relationship in his stead, instead of worrying about her well being and how to make up to her, he straight up wants the child to be taken into the royal family where THE PERSON WHO KIDNAPPED HER LIVES STILL. And he resents the duke for it too lmao
Not to mention how his huge ass ego keeps prioritizing his own suffering over losing her (entirely his fault) instead of the suffering of Shuelina, who is literally a defenseless little kid. What the FUCK is wrong w this guy. Even if he’s different from his other timeline self (less of a fuck up I guess) he’s still very much undeserving of her.

I guess it’s clearer now, I still don’t like her Bio family, but definitely waiting for the red haired mother and daughter witches to be gone.

The Emperor and prince were totally in their right minds, the reason for them treating Shuelina like that is because,
The Emperor was told the empress (MC’s mother) died during childbirth and her SON died after being born, the current empress lied to the emperor that the previous empress had given birth to a son that died, but really sent MC away to an orphanage
When MC was born, the emperor felt strong power from far away and so believed that his “son” was still alive somewhere
The current empress lied to the emperor that her child she was pregnant with was his, though the emperor never touched her
Which leads to why the empress extracted Shuelina’s power from her, to give to her own daughter to prove she was of royal bloodline
That’s why, when Shuelina came to find her father and brother, they threw her out because 1. They had believed that the missing child of the previous empress was a son and 2. Shuelina had no royal power since all of it had been extracted away from her
When she came to find her bio family, they had already accepted the empress’s daughter as their daughter and sister since she had such powerful magic of the royal bloodline.
