THE NERVE OF THIS MANN (us he a man or a narcissistic little BOYY), he neglects her, and THEN, now that he found out that she’s DIEING….he won’t even grant her the LITTLE REQUEST SHE HAS BEFORE SHE DIES (not that she’s going to but) and keeps her back only for a HIGHLYY SELFISH ASS REASON
I say this sincerely from the bottom of my heart I hope he burns in the hottest pits of hell neglect is abuse he literally said “the imperial family isn’t supposed to be a warm one” and yet he purposely favors his son and left her to her own devices simply because her mother was considered a villainess and uses the excuse of loving another woman like the only thing he said that makes sense was that he is a terrible father
I don’t care what everyone thinks at least he is not glad at her going away like she is finally gone I can live in peace glad but instead, he feels sorry for the neglect and abuse he caused her and wants her to stay for a year while trying to help her with her disease, making more happy memories for her in the place and trying to mend his realatonship with her. So he is not all that bad as everyone thinks.
He neglected her for 19 years, he knows she doesn’t think fondly of him, yet he has the nerve to force her to spend a year in the palace by his side where even he admitted she must have suffered in. Not to mention, she only has 2 years, and he’s not even doing this for her, more so to relieve his guilt and for his own selfishness. Disgusting.
He’s softer than expected! I love the way he thinks and even though it’s almost too late he wants to act as a real father to his daughter. It seems harsh for both sides, but the fact that he at least showed emotions and regrets, means he’s a great and very kind person…
Also, mc you should consider what your maids tell you actually, ignorance can sometimes bring great results to the experienced… whoever understands, understands

Really doubt it was abuse, Neglect is the more appropriate word. It’s still not good but it’s not like he was having her beaten or something and it’s not unusual, there are always factions and He has a son which automatically makes him continuing his bloodline and name and she unfortunately will be continuing another man’s family line.
