To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if larriette is the daughter of a dragon and that’s why ians magic affects her and why she needs the dragon magic to survive. I mean the mum could have had multiple one night stands and just chose the guy with better standing to look after her daughter thinking it would be better for her wellbeing.
Good idea, Especialy we dont know much about this world. Often in those mangas nobles had some kind of spirit beast or dragon ancestors. So it could be that Lariette is in fact daughter of dragon and Ian may be descendant of some wolf spirit or something like that. But on second hand there were no isues with Lariette luck until few months ago(in manga timeline i mean) . It in fact may be due to her becoming “adult” dragon,or more closesly dragonoid if she is half dragon and its not that Ian is reason she is unlucky but her groving her dragon powers. And red dragon dosnt want her to be with him cause he is scared that Ian being something like dragon slayer may kill her.

I would be funny development if later in story mother would become pragnent with dragon and marry him , he would become Larite stepfather 😀
