If you take into account that she said the “people at the duke’s would take out anger at night gor being too ugly” it leads me to think the knights or someone would touch her at night and blame her for it and she knows she can’t have children because she would of been pregnant by now?
Abuse is hard to overcome, a nice support group does help, but she has no “reason” to trust them yet… I’m sure she will eventually, she needs time to open her heart and start leaning on them.
She said she can’t give the duke legal children..maybe because she’s an illegitimate child she thought something like that,..the background of the mother is an important issue in terms of succession..and second factor,maybe she was verbally abused by the family of the Count,..maybe they told her that someone illegitimate like her could not give birth to a child…..I hope this issue will resolve and is just a lie so that we can expect for progress…if this will continue the story will become stagnant
