ya know, unrelated to this piece specifically, but i kinda wanna read more transmigrator stories where the arrogance of the transmigrator screws them over
and not like in this one, where he’s a dead villain we dont have to care about. i mean like, one of the typical “i transmigrated into the body of a villainess of my fav novel! what do i do now?”
so many of those protags have a certain level of dismissal for “side characters” and even often will make judgments like “oh that guy is too handsome to be a side characer, must be a protag” and all that sort of thing
but if you destroy the life of a side character casually, assuming that they have nothing to offer the broader story, you really could put someone to the very edge of what they can take
give me a “i entered the body of the villainess and now a random side character is trying to kill me bc i fucked around and now im finding out”
gimme a story where the casual dismissal of the people around them as characters doesnt have the typical consequences of “oh this place didnt feel real, but the man i love does, so now it all feels real”. I want the consequence of “i changed the main story to suit my needs, but i didnt realize that it was HUMAN LIVES that i was playing with”
idk i love a good power fantasy, dont get me wrong, but so many protags are really just fucking around and they only face Main Plot consequences. I’m compelled by the idea accidentally triggering events that have nothing to do with the plot.
it’s not that the servant girl that you fucked over was particularly powerful or starts an evil dark organization, she’s just unhinged and willing to murder you.
we do SOMETIMES see stuff like this, but it’s normally always “unjustified revenge from a villain that the protag screwed over” while the plot casually disregards all the perfectly normal people the protag has screwed over. i want the protag to be in the wrong and to specifically have acted out of neglect for the personhood of the npcs
consequences for treating people like tools, please and thank lol
