Yes, unfortunately, this is still a reality for many families and daughters around the globe. I remember my mother told me she didn’t study a carreer back when she wanted it because my grandparents told her that since they didn’t have much money, they rather give my uncle a higher education than to my mom because he would be the one to have to support a family and my would only practice her carreer for a few years and then marry and depend on her husband. At the time, my mom understood the situation and became a teacher, years later, she studied engineering with my brother and finished her studies with the great scores!! But back in the day, that was the mentality of parents, women will marry so they don’t need to study, the man is the head of the family, he needs to be prepared and inherit the family and all its assets.
Unfortunally a lot of parents are like that in these kind of stories. I just don’t get it. And Meldor really is the picture of a spoiled brat: starts crying as soon as he doesnt get his way and both parents fall for it. Well the oldest daughter is ignored and has the brunt of their anger. I still wonder why the gender of the oldest child changed
@Lily_me im sorry for you but you are wrong bringing up a religion on the case of having biased parents.
Im muslim and Islam has nothing to do with it. Its just some parents are like that. Quite a good amount of asian parents are like that.
Yes, being older sister is not the greatest thing in the world. It’s unfair to see your parents being affectionate towards your younger sibling when it was you cared for them and was beside them, but all you got in return is just responsibilities and rules. Tbh, I really hate that I’m girl, because my mother loves my brother more, because I’m muslim and in islam parents adore their sons more. Just because they carry their legacy and coffin. But girls will eventually marry someone and left their houses that’s why parents don’t love their daughters as their sons. It always hurt, like when my mother said-“What’s the point of studying, you are gonna leave soon, you don’t benefit the family if you don’t do the chores” or when my father siad-“I don’t need you to study, I need your brother’s knowledge, bot yours. He is the one who will take the family’s legacy, so don’t try so hard, it’s pointless”😭😭😭 Like what did I even do? Did I ask you to give birth to me? Or did I make myself a girl? It’s not my fault, is it? After 16 years of living like this, I learned something, you can’t force people to love you even if you try your best, love is natural feeling. And so I started to not care, even when my mother shouted or my father hit me, I didn’t care. Now I’m 17, next year I’m going to study abroad, I’ve prepared everything. I want to be free and make my own rules. I hope this massage will help somebody out there, trying their best to be loved☺️😊🥲
I do get her. I always sacrificed things for my younger sibling. Of course it came for a good place of heart but it still stings a lil bit, well thats why Im the older one
