I hope these translations are off because if not that lady sounds like a massive Bish. I spied on you for your own good and you wouldn’t have survived without me. Those are just excuses and as usual Violet is way too nice and forgiving to the people that treat her like an object

I’m trying to figure out the level of toxicity they are towards each other, despite they used to have very sincere feelings. It came down to the very society they live in, Winter is of a race that is being discriminated upon and though he is in a family that is still respected and powerful, he is still judged – even by said family because he is adopted. He is still being emotionally manipulated by his foster parents and biological mother. Feelings of love and security are equated to money in his eyes. For Violet, she grew up preciously as a princess – but it all changed when their kingdom fell. The love and respect she had growing up was all a facade because of her position in that life. She is a laughingstock, being a former princess and a tool to what is left of her family to throw around to gain what scraps of fortune and fame they can get. They both ended up with the short ends of the stick, and are horribly miserable – be it by themselves or together. Violet has also been burned before with trying to communicate her feelings to her husband, so them trying to talk it out may have some ups and downs. I do like that they have experienced a bit of each other’s lives by switching places, and that it still wasn’t an easy fix for their relationship because of how almost nonexistent the foundation of it was in hindsight.
