Tbh she’s already died once but she hasn’t learned any lesson. Obviously this manga will favor the FL in any sort of ways (like kindness will bring you this and that) but in real life if she just let bullies do whatever they want she will suffer multiple times 😔😔😔 there are plenty of kids who are psychopath and murder and steal for their own good 😔
In his own twisted cowardly way, he probably liked her. Like he is an egotistical noble with much pride to ever admit he feels for her or act on those feelings but no doubt he does feel attraction for her.
Liked her enough to “tolerate” her presence when she went to him. He’s justifying treating her decently like it’s a benevolent act on his part when deep inside he doesn’t dislike it.
It’s also why even though he never helped her out when she was at the temple, he went to see her for the last time and told her he was glad she became a sacrifice than be some nobles’ wife, since that was what could’ve happened. He won’t go against the latter event if it comes to it, but he doesn’t prefer it.
So basically he’s a cowardly egotistical jerk that should f himself.
