she could have started serious development on a cure before her father faced the first onset of the disease?????????????
if she wanted to conceal her future knowledge, all she needed to do was invest in medical research for a few other diseases as well?????????????????? just play the “my adopted mother died of illness so now i care a lot about curing obscure illness” card??????????? or fuckit, just pretend to have a passion for medicine or philanthropy?? “i just worry abt those kids in the orphanage without easy access to medicine or cures, so i wanna put the money down to develop them”?? fuckit, even go the full villain route of “i think medicine sounds like a great way to make money >:D people need it to live so they’ll pay through the nose!!!”. it’d be evil, but if she was worrying about her family not agreeing bc they didn’t see what was in it for them, it’d be easy to sell how lucrative medicine can be as an industry :/
