The FL hasn’t had the courage to talk to him since they met once years ago (a moment he probably doesn’t remember) meanwhile the leech has been feeding him lies about her, and the people in the temple have probably doubled down on them. Her reputation isn’t good, so why would he question the girl who ‘saved’ him?
This isn’t like a fiance or childhood friend betraying her. He’s literally just some guy. Heck, with his reputation he probably has lots of female fans.
