Actually this is a good look into a manipulated relationship. You have to remember there are people out in the world who pretend to be good people but are outed as being outright evil. Those around them often say: “I couldn’t imagine them doing that.” It’s because those wicked people keep a mask on to blend in and only lets the mask slip in front of those they want to do harm to. Him being unable to recognize her wicked behavior is a great look into such people. He was told that she healed him and he thinks he owes her his life. So what he believes with his entire heart is hard to reconcile with what he actively sees. My guess is he won’t think otherwise because “she” saved his life.
