Its a constant theme that everyone is stupid in these works. I dint think many authors think it through. Or it could be they arent conveying it properly in the works why the npcs dont notice stuff obvious to us the readers who are privy to all the info the npcs are not

The main premise of this story appears to be everyone is stupid. Saintess candidate is mysteriously injured when the war hero is healed and all of a sudden because one girl said so that same candidate is a man hungry THOT.

After this is over the nobles would be full of idiots if they didn’t realize this was a planned attack. Some of them should be able to piece together what little information they have and at that very least be suspicious of why they were targeted and who would benefit from that.
