I hate how they keep treating her like she’s some fragile being.. Just because she may seem like it doesn’t mean she is. She can’t show what she’s capable of if they keep restricting her to do things and help out.

I accept that the FL is weak, not strong, not badass, but now I just wish that the author gave her a brain to think logically and wisely, rather than having emotional intelligence.

Accept it or not, the fact is that she is really just a burden here. Yeah, she just wants to help them and she already proved it back then, but did she really believe that it was enough? The FL’s character development is very slow.🙄🙄
The novel tells how much Maxi suffers on this expedition, the carrion that her clothes get because of the lack of bathing, the smell of the horse, a lot of sweat and dust. It also talks about how bad the food is, usually bread so old and dry that it tastes like eating sand. Riftan is worse in the novel, he really ignores her a lot on this expedition, making her very depressed.
I would disagree, he may be harsh to her but it will keep her on edge. He knows road and is just concerned with her. Besides he is a warrior so he knows battlefield and knows how to win, and what are priorities
My dear, no one’s born being able to handle that. You get used it by doing it again and again, hardening yourself. The amount of trust he has in his so called love/wife is disappointing, even when I get why he tries to shelter her. Just let her decide for herself man, she said she can do it and she will let you know if she can’t.
I didn’t notice it at first even after some pointed it out, but now i can see the deference in the art style, It’s not good or bad though, just my opinion.
