The story is literally about her overcoming her insecurities and trauma. She has no resources, support, friends, mentors, or a way to sustain herself if she left her previous home. Compared to what governmental assistance and other resources are available to modern victims of abuse, Maxi has absolutely nothing. It’s so unbelievably unempathetic and a little sociopathic to blame Maxi for her situation and reactions for 29 chapters with your full chest.
im really sorry that she does not « recover » from her trauma as fast as you. Everybody is different and everybody is dealing with their own trauma their own way.. uhh I understand that y’all can find that boring that she overthink everything but if you don’t like it y’all can just drop the story. I know she’s abused, I know. It’s not like I’m saying things not knowing how hard it is. I came from an abusive relationship too. But I guess I’m just strong enough to stand for myself even after all the pain and humiliation I’ve experienced. I hate seeing abused women being weak and not being able to stand for themselves because I hate seeing my old self. All I can say is that she could have done better. This is her only chance to have a great life. IT’S not wrong to feel sad or doubt sometimes but you must take step to face your own demons and give the people around you the chance to prove themselves. Don’t just constantly judge them in your mind.
The people who needs to grow up are those who baby the abused women. I mean treating them like a child and just being understanding. Does think will not help the abused victim much. They may even feel bad for your sympathy. Instead of overprotecting them and tolerating their frail personality you must help them be confident with themselves at so they can make rightful decisions for their own good, not needing validation to anyone.
