I don’t know why I pictured Kuahel Leon so differently in the novel… I always imagined him with an older, sterner, mature look and long, straight platinum blonde hair (kind of like Legolas in Lord of the Rings). Maybe that was just my own head canon lol. It’s been so long since I finished reading the novel, I forget his exact description. Also hilarious that Maxi’s first impression of him is a “gentle-looking soul”! LOL! Now I wonder how they’ll depict Aren! Another curly-haired character like our Maxi. We don’t get enough characters in manhwa with curls 🙂

Where I can read the finish novel by the way?

@wulan02006 As far as I know, you can only finish reading the novel on Ridibooks. Under the Oak Tree is a two novel series. Ridibooks also has Riftan’s story, which is sort of like a prequel to Under the Oak Tree and is about his life prior to the events of the main story. Highly recommend it! It explains so much about his character; also shows how he met Ruth! You’ll probably be able to find an unofficial English version of the first novel online (the manhwa is about halfway through the first novel right now), but the second novel and Riftan’s story are only available on Ridi as far as I know. The author and a legal team went after a lot of sites that were translating the chapters for free viewing In English a few years ago (rightfully so, tbh, considering the novel was her main source of income).
Because the novel is 19+ on Ridi, you’ll need to verify your age before purchase, but I found the process on Ridi to be very simple. You can read a chapter for free each day and purchase coins to rent/buy either the whole novel or singular chapters. You’ll also need a translator downloaded on your computer. I used Google Translate. Not the best, but it was good enough. Still waiting for the official English translation of the second novel to be released, but that will probably be a while. An official English translation of the first novel is available for purchase already on sites like Amazon if you don’t want to go through Ridi. I think it’s only a couple dollars on Amazon last I looked, but it’s sold in parts. I had read the first novel on wuxiaworld for free a few years ago before they got the cease and desist. It’s still available there if you want to go that route too, but it’s incomplete after a certain point because they had to stop translating. 🙂
Sorry for the long post, but hope that helps!
