@Senia14 If you’re thinking of Ruby from How to Get My Husband on My Side, no, Maxi isn’t like that. No human can communicate with these monsters. It’s explained more much later in the series, so I don’t want to go into it too much to avoid spoilers. The author really focuses on world building, and that includes the monsters. But Maxi does gradually become much stronger, especially in the second novel.

Incredible depiction of the novel! I loved reading this scene, but seeing it depicted with such great artwork is so cool! Maxi is still naive and learning right now, considering how isolated she was before coming to Anatol, but her character growth through the first and second novels is phenomenal. One of my favorites to read. 🙂
