what sucks is how the sibs would probably get along much better if it weren’t for politics and their shit dad. his innocence would be charming if it were in literally any other person, but countless lives depend on him NOT being innocent and naive, so it reads as a threat to the common good, which it is. it’s also read as a snub to her, the only sibling who is putting in the legwork befitting her station and bloodline, only to be shit out of luck because her dad’s a schmuck and she can’t manifest holy powers. plonk them down in any other family and nobody would have any reason to resent the boy, and the girl wouldn’t have grown up so bitter
The brother is the crown prince,yes,but criticizing the emperor may lead to felony. Felony is a crime punishable of death. And Carnan,their father is still young,so he can get a wife or a concubine and make another crown prince. Judging his shameless personality,I believe he really don’t care of his children’s well being. He’s not cold to his son but that doesn’t mean he favors him too.
