Rose falls asleep at home and nearly faints when she wakes up at the palace in the arms of Emperor Lukewarell. Despite her uncanny resemblance to his beloved concubine, Agnes, Rose manages to convince Lukewarell that she is an ordinary tutor with no relation. However, she must help him find the missing Agnes by masquerading as the concubine and feeling out the suspicious people around her. But the more Rose learns about Agnes’ complicated relationships, the less she understands who this mysterious woman was. In fact, the dread in her heart only grows as she gets closer to the truth…

Although I agree it is a little boring, I have a different idea of what’s going on. I thinks she actually IS Agnes and due to some kind of trauma she developed another personality as Rose, the emperor is aware and is trying to take things at her pace so he doesn’t disturb her but can’t stop acting as he usually does with the woman he loves, that also may be the reason why he isn’t giving her details about what’s going on as it could make her get worse. Whatever he found out may be the trauma which caused her to switch personalities and he just wants her to come back… with that context he isn’t bad at all, just trying to help the woman he loves. As for Agnes being a concubine and him having an empress, she looks like a child, 15 at most, and this was an arranged marriage with another kingdom. What man who looks to me in his late 20s early 30s would love a child as a wife? It’s just a sad situation overall…..

I don’t know if the author of this manhwa and the author of the Empress of the Ashes are the same. Here is my honest review,I don’t find it interesting. It’s only my own opinion but I don’t know if it’s the same for other readers. The characters are a bit annoying- for now,I don’t know if they will prosper or sink in the future chaps. Mc is the third woman and a second concubine, ofc, there is the empress, Agnes the second woman and her who resembles Agnes so much. The emperor aside from being suspicious – I know the author purposely wrote a lousy ML at early chaps so he could redeem him in the middle chapters) is not so likeable at all.
