Could it be that their son suddenly showcased some sort of ability? and maybe that ability showed Frans that he had to leave with his son in order to save him? I mean, going back in time depening on how you look at it… might actually erase that future, and by doing so it would erase their son. So maybe Frans took away their son in order to use magic and somehow lock him outside of time in order to save him or something?

Yes, but at this point his wickedness has almost started making him cool as a character. he has become so much of a trash that I just want to see more of him being a complete piece of garbage. Back at the start he was just acting like a pathetic guy that seemed to feel sorry for himself. But when he is shown to just think of people as tools and things he can use to gain power… he actually become villainous in a cool way.
