I figure it is just Leoni doing all this to frighten Melanie. But if she isn’t… would any of you condone her murdering the maid as revenge, not only for something the current maid isn’t guilty of… but even in the future, the only thing the maid was guilty of was being somewhat rude.

So Leoni didn’t neglect Ruthger in their marriage then? You never asked yourself WHY he told her that he would wait until she was ready, until “bedding” her? It was because she was giving him signs of not actually wanting to be with him. Also, you really shouldn’t be talking about reading comprehension. There was no mention of him ignoring her for years. It mentioned that he was “distant”. It is constantly both shown and mentioned that what Leoni was talking about was Ruthger being an awkward man of few words. So he is “abuse” was that he didn’t speak much and was giving her space.
But all that is beside the point, because the current child Ruthger is NOT the adult Ruthger.

This is how characters that go back in time act in these kinds of stories, though. Just look at how she is thinking of her own sister. She isn’t thinking at all about her, and just figured she could just dump her sister with their trash father and the child would just grow up to become nice.

First of all. Neglect is a form of abuse. And second of all, Leona doesn’t owe Rutger anything, she doesn’t have to be his friend, and she doesn’t have to be around him if she doesn’t want to. Thirdly, no where in the manwha did Leona say she was taking revenge on Rutger, because she’s not, that was never her plan.

I never said she wasn`t the wronged party, nor that her reaction wasn`t understandable.
You and I seem to have different definitions of abuse. I`d consider the silent treatment emotional neglect on its own, and I doubt the author intended for him to be abusive considering he`s obviously ml. This doesn`t mean it wasn`t hurtful/traumatizing, but abuse is something different.
My problem with her acting this way is that she acts this was solely to him. Her father and sister, she`s a chess-master manipulating the situation to engineer the perfect downfall, but she can`t even be in the same room as her ex when she has feweréno memories of him at this age?
my frustration stems from the fact that she`s just taking these women`s words at face value – including her sister. In what world would you trust anything she has to say?
My frustration stems from the stupid misunderstanding plot. Chibi!ML is distracting from the revenge plans which is annoying. If she was gonna take vengeance on him too that`d be one thing but it`s really clear that they`re going to reconcile in the end anyways.

To be frank, Leona doesn’t owe Rutger anything and it doesn’t matter if she’s an adult, she’s not any part of his family. At best, in reality, the most you would do for a stranger is to call child protective services for their well-being, not take them under your wing and save them yourself. I have never seen an adult be as good a person as you seem to be expecting her to be, plus she was traumatized and directly neglected by him. The author has already pointed out that the characters in this world seem to carry their future personalities with them from childhood, for example the princess and crown prince, I’m pretty sure Leona expects the same from Rutger. She has already done a lot for him and expects him to be proactive as a royal to take advantage of the opportunity she gave him. Saving herself and working on her own goals is enough. Yes he is an eight year old but he is NOT her eight your old.

You guys who gets angry at Leoni just think of your opinions…try to put your shoes upon Leoni’s….would you enjoy to be with the younger self of a person who you married and never had a normal conversation with for many years? And who also infact tried to replace you with your sister and tried to kill you before you gave birth to his own flesh and blood? You may all think that all those were not true but that is THE TRAUMA that lingers on Leoni….She SUFFERED A LOT OF TRAUMA so don’t blame her for being a little mean to a kid…. it’s not like she’s physically hurting them…she just tries her best not to be reminded of her past trauma… what’s wrong with that? You people are so narrow minded…

I feel like I might drop this just because of the comments supporting Rutger. I remember previously reading about Leoni trying to speak to Rutger and him just ignoring her. Whatever the reason, your mouth isn’t the only way you can communicate with someone. I recall another manga where the ml couldn’t speak directly with others due to a childhood trauma, so he took to writing notes and giving little gifts secretly.
So far Leoni’s POV has not indicated Rutger attempting to communicate with her and I’ve yet to read Rutger’s POV, so I’ve decided to hold the judgement on him. Though I’m not a big fan of him getting together with her for now.

I never said she needed to be happy. She is literally putting words/motivations in his mouth and you’re saying he holds all the blame? You’re saying he’s ignoring her and not talking to her… but we just witnessed him attempting to talk to her and the results of that, lmao.
She says that that woman was important to him because of what that woman told her, that he betrayed her because of hat her sister told her. It takes two to tango. You’re saying he should’ve spoken up, but the same could be said for her. It’s his marriage too. She was hurting, so she lashed out. He was hurting, so he closed off why is one more acceptable than the other?

The his entire miscommunication issue is HIS fucking fault. He literally ignores her and never talks to her. Her third marra was HELL because of him. She doesn’t owe him ANYTHING just because he’s a cute little kid now. Actually read the chapters before commenting stupid shit like that.

WTF it was obvious that he was trying to comfort her or apologize for what the woman had done but she 1. Refused to face him and 2. Kept interrupting him. Then she put words in his mouth and made hasty assumptions about his motivations – then blamed him for it???
Of course he’s soft-spoken with his upbringing, but when he tried to reach out and communicate with her, she acted like this? And she laments the fact that he never spoke with her…
I think the “miscommunication” was entirely one-sided on her part. She seems to assume only the worst in him in this life, and the last. I get that she has trauma, but more and more it seems like he holds little to no blame for her reaction to him.
