As the person below said, this isn’t an isekai, I’d also suggest against it if you’re looking for a romance. This is really a revenge drama, and looks like it’ll be a good one, but don’t go into it with expectations for something else or you’ll be disappointed.

Also, the reason she was adopted was because she was passable as a family member, so they took her in to sell her off when she came of age. Probably also to fulfill some sadistic tendencies, but that’s more of a contextualized assumption than something the story says.

Hmm there’s a plot hole about the FL and why she was adopted, which is annoying 😑 and this isn’t a isekai. But I like a good revenge story so I’ll keep reading. I’m not a fan of the ML.
