Honestly, The pacing of the story is just soooo slow. It’s already 31 chapters in and we’re barely getting anywhere. Every chapter is always the prince showing his hate to the duke on different levels possible. I’m thinking of dropping this now.
31 chapters and my sympathy for the ML remains at an unwavering -100. It doesn’t even matter if he “develops” and loves FML. He’s lost any goodwill I might have held on for him. His sad background didn’t even make my heart twitch.
The duke is a deplorable man and a horrible father but we the viewers were never meant to sympathize with him. That’s why we didn’t care so much that he was rotten.
But Cal in the ML, the guy we’re supposed to be rooting for to end up with our lovely FML.
That we turn our hatred to him rather than the duke is understandable because he is meant to be the “good guy”. But he’s not.
I have no motivation to support whatever romance will bloom between him and FML. I’m really only sticking around at this point to see the well-deserved peace FML so badly needs.
