1. What’s the point to having her have past life memories besides cashing in on the gimmick?
2. So evil people only higher evil servants now and only good, kind people work for those who are good and kind (ignore the fact that the Earl was the Duke’s lackey I guess)? Literally what did anyone in that house gain by treating her poorly? I dunno about you, but beating up a seven year old because there will be no consequences doesn’t seem like a fun pastime. And it’s not like they were getting paid for it.
okay, can someone who has worked an office job please tell me if being an intern is actually that bad? because damn a job like that shouldn’t exist if it only causes their workers that much misery.
Honestly, yeah it can be this bad. Usually upon entry everyone is nice and a bit cautious but after like a week things will change for the much better or much worse.
Basically a lot of people, me included, who have/have had these kinds of intern/administrative/temp jobs are taught to be doormats, and it’s really hard to shake off that mindset, especially right now when you should “be happy to have a job at all.”
The problem is not the job itself but the environment you’re forced to face. Just like some people love their school/college years bc they meet amazing friends and teachers, and other simply have those years and get ready traumatized because people around them tread them poorly.
So yeah, being an intern can be horrible and amazing, it all depends on how much they ask you to do and if what you gain is actually what you deserve.
Like I asked to leave a job because they were asking me to do too much, in a too short time and was not paying enough to make it seem like a reasonable job. Furthermore my job would be pissed if anyone losed one deadline, so I can understand her. And right now I’m without a job for almost 2 years, so yeah… is pretty much accurate what she went through. I’m lucky my family is supportive and I’m young, but even so I had my desperate times when I thought of killing myself bc I didn’t had money to go out with my friends or buy something I wanted, no matter how cheap it was, therapy’s getting me through and I hope soon I’ll have a job again.
I just say, don’t underestimate the difficulty of working, bc some environments can break a human being deeply and result easily in death
well she worked as an intern so im assuming she is an adult, either in her mid 20s or 30s. And the reason she acts like a child is probably because of…again…trauma, since apparently authors can’t find anything more gripping than a childhood abuse story lol but it is only chapter 2 and we have yet to see her in any situation needing intelligence so lets just sit back and observe for now.
If you were treated a certain age and put into a certain body it would probably affect how you act. I couldn’t be sure though, lol. Plus, she’s wasn’t truly treated like a child, so idk
What kind of father is that… in the first place it was your fault for trusting that earl. You cause her pain and trauma, instead of apologizing you act so cold like nothing happened
