Why does the mom keep letting her daughter embarrass herself like that? Sure, you’re not happy the FL is doing well, but making a scene and pretending you can just substitute what a higher noble wants only makes them look worse. Frankly, this result is the best they could’ve hoped for, excluding the embarrassment it took to get them here and the fact that the step-sister is incompetent and is inviting direct comparisons.
