When you’re betrayed by the ppl you trust the most and you grew up being compared to someone, your self confidence will be crushed. Up to tge point that you will never acknowledge your skills and your achievements yourself. You will reject any kind of affection/kindness because you will think that you’re not deserving of such luxury, because in your eyes, you will never be enough and you will never deserve anything nice from anyone.
It’s so sad seeing her prepare to give up everything to her evil sister and not even try to compete in any way, even when she’ll keep her powers. She thinks there’s something more she’s lacking that the powers wont make up for, I guess social skills or her sisters ability to win everyone over.

actually, i have read the novel and i can say that in the novel the back story is more logical. the reason why she hesitates so much is just not lorenia. duke’s family was so bad to her. they didn’t treat her especially badly but they made her feel like she was like a trash beside lorenia. i still want a FL which is really strong and confident but i also understand her too.

It is honestly frustrating. She was an adult. She should do everything to make sure the sister doesn’t become a sponsored child since she is worried about her life. The Nacts didn’t kill her Loreina did. She should be making sure to develop a good relationship with them since she has to be there.
I don’t want to sound insensitive because I know she has trauma and low self-esteem, but from what I’ve seen, her past wasn’t THAT bad. What I mean by that is that she wasn’t abused in the duke’s mansion and was relatively allowed to do what she wanted, but her own misunderstandings and insecurities prevented her from doing so. (dont misunderstand, im not saying she has to be abused to be traumatized)
I understand the emotional side of it and that she’ll grow later on, yet you’d think she’d be a little bit more abrasive or vengeful after experiencing betrayal not even 10 chapters ago. But that’s just me because I’m used to FL’s turning into bad bitches after betrayal 😕🤷♀️
