Seriously tho, if anything was going to break the Mc out of her old mind set it was having to sit though boring class, with an equally obnoxious teacher, who demands unearned respect while treating you like trash.
It is sad and desperate to see that the protagonist finds herself trapped in the circle of victimization, where good treatment and appreciation are perceived as harmful because they destabilize her internal coherence that is based on cognitive distortions.
