I want to thank those of you who are understanding of how deeply cutting trauma is and are attempting to educate the affect it has on people. I suffer from deep seeded trauma (I have been diagnosed with PTSD), I had and I suppose still do have trust issues (in my younger years it was really bad). Why? Every single person in my life betrayed me in some manner or another. From my father to my mother, all of my family. I was also ostracized because I was “different”. If you have never suffered from trauma and being seen as “different” by people within your own race, I pray you NEVER do. Self loathing, feeling like you have not accomplished anything (despite having done quite a bit), the list goes on. Just because she is fictional doesn’t mean we cannot understand what it’s like. I will have to be insulting for a moment but that’s also the dumbest thing that ever can be said. When you watch a movie do you not cry along side the protagonists? Do you not feel anger when injustice happens? Yeah, by your logic you shouldn’t.
It’s really crazy how so many people don’t know a thing about trauma. I read someone’s comment saying we are caring too much for a fictional character, but listen here; I don’t take trauma lightly. In any case. I can take jokes, but outright insulting someone by saying they can just get over it is crossing the line. I have trust issues like FL. It sucks, as we *want* to trust people, but after what happened, we just can’t. It’s so hard.
People in the comment section expecting her to be scheming and okay after everything. She haven’t even came to her senses yet. She’s still processing the fact that she was betrayed by the most important person in her life. How dyall expect her to react? Dumb from the start? She’s an orphan lol. That means she haven’t been loved properly all her life. Then someone suddenly showed her affection pretending to be nice and all. The fml will always have her guard up for sure, but constant show of affection will make her waver. That’s because affection is something she, as an orphan would always want. A place she can call home. And she is awfully timid because she has no self esteem! Being compared all your life while her abuser is manipulating her into thinking that she is nothing without the shared power— will definitely affect how her brain develops. Aside from being an orphan, she was neglected in a mansion where all the eyes are on her watching her every step, pointing out every mistake and flaws she has. Also, her so called sister made sure to destroy her self confidence fully by making side comments, sugar coating them and telling her over and over that she’s useless. Get it? To that person saying the fml’s motives dont line up to her motives. She said inlt in the previous chapter, first she was worried that the new orphanage head will be worse than the one before so she contemplated. And after the nice lady was promoted as the new head, by the duke, she took it as a debt she has to pay by coming with him. She’s planning to leave after Loraine come by attending an academy or whatever.
No, dont defend her. Its not trauma. Shes so dumb from the start. Plain stupid, after realising that the blonde took her powers, how can she not think that it is a scheme to gain their favor and she can do that instead. Im losing my mind how awfully timid she is
She confuses me. She’s the one who chose to come back to the mansion. Why did she choose to go back if she didn’t want to be there? Her motives don’t line up with her actions.

I literally hate some of you in the comments that relentlessly insult her like you know what she’s going through, like you’ve been through it before and that you can understand it because you do not, you can’t just expect trauma she has had FOR YEARS to disappear in one night like it was nothing, all you people who are insulting her are just heartless people and useless members of society.
Do these people just expect her to be like, “Oh wow, let me stay in this nice mansion that gave me years of trauma and emotional abuse!! Such a great place to be with my loving father and brothers who not at all neglected me in my past life!!”
I get that they were all manipulated by what’s-her-name, but that doesn’t make it any easier to forget pain.
Shit she had a panick attack. She was already anxious but the weight of bwing accepted into the family is too much. Plus the closer she gets to the one year mark the more stressful it’s going to be for her

Its more than stress and malnutrition. Its more likely severe anxiety she’s having constant panic attacks. She wants love from them but has been utterly traumatized by her past life and the sources are the people in that house. Shes surrounded by people who will ultimately lead her to die due to her violent reactions to their what she sees as strange behavior. She has to mentally allow herself to either trust them. Or contain her anxiety to stabilize herself and steel her nerves but in my experience. That option can be just as damaging to ones mind and body.
I’m so glad that there are some people reading this that understands the impact a traumatic experience can have on a person. It never sat right with me that FLs in other stories can just wake up after dying and going through a series of tribulations yet are still able to act strong willed. I mean, it’s totally possible to remain unaffected by your past ordeals and since this is fantasy it’s not like the characters have to reflect how actual people act. But realistically speaking, that’s not how it works. And there’s nothing wrong with authors trying to capture the realistic aspects of a character’s actions and feelings after recovering from a traumatic event. I know I really should stop trying to tell people how to think but it irks me to see how inconsiderate some people are being towards the FL who is victim to many agonizing events. All I ask is for people to be more open-minded and try to rationally analyze how someone in her shoes would feel, react, and think.
@Bingereader , I agree with you, her mental illness filters out the positivities, dark gloomy colors in the family dinner made her view worse than it already was.
@Lotharaine no matter how many times a groomed person gets back in time with their memories, they’re unable to erase the habit and mindset that they carry unless they get the help they need. This story is not for you, you can’t handle reading a groomed person.
….this girl needs therapy. she doesn’t recognize the things happening around her as positive because the deep seeded trauma from her 1st life is painting everything as negative. even if it is genuinely good, her mind will spin it towards the negative. she’ll be doomed to repeated either a more tragic ending than her 1st life or just repeat the 1st life. hopefully this turns around for her soon
