ok im not disinterested in this comic but i cant seem to get over the premise? like… she’s supposed to be responsible for her friends death but honestly… how is she responsible for it exactly? it seems like it was just a senseless tragedy????? im all for revenge plots but getting revenge because her friend happened to be in a shipwreck that she was almost in herself??????? literally if she hadnt gotten sick, she probably would have died too????? sooooo???
also now that the plot point of her father being in debt has come up, im sitting here wondering why she could afford a cruise when shes in that much debt??
the logical explanation is that her friend paid for it but like… if her friend was so invested in the trip that she paid for it… how the fuck is it the protagonists fault that she died in a random ass shipwreck????
basically the character motivations seem really thin to be ruining a persons life :/
