You have a power to possess someone and you have the lack of morals to frame someone for crimes using false confession. And you have a duke willing to kill to protect you.
Why not just kill the consort and other evil god worshipper and frame one of their accomplices as the assassin? They are literally trying to kill you.
If the pope can be brushed over like that, when the new king gets into power he can brush over your crimes too.
I sometimes wonder why these “murderous dukes” never actually try to harm anyone other than people below their station. Isn’t it just cowardly at that point? They are trying to kill your brother and beloved wife, and yet the simplest solutions to stopping a demonic cult don’t come to mind when it’s the first thing you think of for every other problem?
