I have a theory: since it seems like the duke actually wouldn’t mind having his daughter marry the marquis, I think he didn’t lie, instead what happened is the adoptive mother of the marquis put some kind of curse on him when she was dying, that makes is his crest invisible to both him and everyone else, but then they get rid of the curse somehow and he’s the mc’s soulmate. Lol but this is just a theory idk if it’s true or not
