Sure, while there are rumors due to the og yvonne, this servant doesn’t have the right to take matters into her own hands. No only is this a matter that doesn’t involve her, this also shows a lack of trust in the ml’s ability to tell if someone is wrong (sure he is indeed a bit naive but surely he has enough wits to tell if someone is malicious). Not only that but trying to pull tricks on a guest is risky and dangerous. What if this was og yvonne, the maid would be burnt to a crisp, made to resemble a burnt french fry without the salt on top. What if the maid did something to harm yvonne as way to expose her, but the maid would be fired or worse once the duke found out. Plus not only that, but if the duke weren’t as kind as he is and was like any other noble or worse, the maid could wind up with her hands cut off and she be sent out in the middle of a dense forest full of creatures that’d love to have a bite. It’s too risky for something that doesn’t involve her, worse thing in her supposed involvement being seeing the duke depressed if rejected.

On one hand, sure, from our perspective, this servant is annoying trash, but at the same time, think about literally *ALL* the rumors that spread about her previous self (and back then they were true!). The fact that she’s doubtful makes plenty of sense, and depending on how this plays out, it seems like she has good intentions as a loyal servant, just doesn’t have the most up-to-date info.
