She ran away because she was afraid of her husband’s obsession over her, as stated in earlier chapters. She married him because she didn’t mind his obsession when they were together, but it became different once she learned she was pregnant. People like him who obsess over someone, like the person they’re obsessed with all to them self. They want all that person’s attention. And a baby would take that attention away from him. How do you think he’d react to a child who takes up his wife’s love and attention when he wants to be the only one receiving it? She made the best decision for herself and her unborn child. Yes she ran to the wrong person for help, but that was the only mistake she made in the story. She was afraid her husband would kill her child for taking her attention. Imagine if the child was a son, he certainly would’ve killed him just because his wife breast-fed him when he was born.
