She has lived 99 previous lives… so that would make her hundreds of years old. So I wouldn’t call her a “literal child”.
I’ve always disliked the concept of a literal child having to convince her own father to acknowledge her. I feel like it’s dehumanizing, like why should a child force themselves to act cute and innocent to a person who’s never expressed interest in their existence?
1. Is the “why” of your regression really your most pressing question? Really???
2. Okay, having a child as a “gift” for another person is a trash things to do. Children are their own people – they exist for their own sakes. And ideally no one should live/be alive for another person.
It also makes the mom running away even more of a wtf.

I agree. Habing a child take on the labor of mending a relationship is so backwards. But it makes for horrid tropes that keeps appearing I guess.
