I think her suffering on future is the fruit of her revenge. No matter what taking revenge is not really a good thing, in anyways they could have just tried to be a good family or just simply put her siblings into life imprisonment and not behead them. I feel bad for Cain who’s trying his best to live and be grateful for his second chance. I feel bad for the count who sheltered Aria and her mom when they were nothing. He might never say it into words but he was grateful to have them. He just can’t treat Aria better than his only daughter Mielle who lost her mom at childbirth.
I understand the feeling of Aria since I don’t want to have a child specially a daughter in the future. A lot of my friends and my relatives would often joke about wanting to see a little version of me. They want me to have my own family. But it won’t happen… I fear childbirth so much, my body can’t handle it and I know for a fact it may cause me my life. I don’t want to die and live my child behind in this cruel world. I’d rather not give birth to her.
I love annie’s characterization. She is not 100% a good person, she is first and foremost materialistic, opportunistic and cunning, but she is also realistic in what she’s able to achieve (she bagged the rich baron and was satisfied with it, not trying to bite more than she can chew). She is also a person of gratitude who knows and acknowledges the help she received. Like you can see how her bad side compliments her good side and you just be like “well… She’s just the way she is….”
