Can anyone remind me why they don´t tell her? I mean sure, stuff IS complicated AND dangerous, what with that fear of “sudden magic frenzy” or what her mom had (has? been a while -.-) being common sense in their kingdom.
But aside from “Let´s solve it ourselves without worrying our beloved Loretta!” was there any other reason to constantly go “Don´t worry, leave it to us, you don´t need to know~” when the kid is obviously old enough to understand the basic explaination? Cause I seem to remember that her family already knows Loretta picked up on it, at least in terms of “something is going on that makes them worry, it has to do with me, and they all don´t WANT to tell me”.
Or was this really “just” the author using this as the way to have her run into the mess herself? Which is frustrating for the reader, but author (from what I remember) had set up basically the whole place as “Sucks ass at social interactions, inlcuding with those they cherish” quite nicely from the start.
Maybe the whole “let me do it myself without telling anyone” just feels tiring cause the series is long-running Ô.o
