I feel like you’re thinking a bit too much i to it lol, but if you wanted a answer i think this would suffice: The dress isn’t even that ‘shabby’ and I doubt the princess controlled everything that came in and out of her large wardrobe. It could’ve also just been a gift that she never got rid of, or didn’t even notice she had considering, once again her large wardrobe. ✌️
