Different cultures have a different standard of beauty. In Asia you rarely notice average to fat beauty women celebrities, most are thin to petite. Then their is the idea of having lite unblemished skin since darker skin means you are a worker or manual labor. Comics tend to not make the MC as ugly as they are written in the novel.
IM SO CONFUUSEDDD- why are freckles and red hair always portrayed as ugly in manhwas and comics??? Where I live freckles are seen as as a sign of beauty and health, we call them kisses from the sun. And red hair?? seriously?? I will say- if they make her skinny I will be mad because shes not fat! Shes just of a bigger body type and shes beautiful!!

Not unless because I’m asian and everyone is black haired with less freckles of course there’s a huge difference.
