   Hmm tan with freckles is pretty. But her dress is…ugly @baby im not even here…..im hallucination she was literally kidnapped in the og story if I remember correctly. I don’t think rejection is an option, and if she ran away, this would most likely turn into a cliche cat and mouse game. I guess the author was trying to come up with something more unique but failed miserably while offending all darker skinned people

   I read like three chapters and it’s not my taste.
   1: its simply another “i reincarnated as the ugly duckling” story except the MC has dark skin, which is apparently supposed to mean she’s ugly??? well ok my biracial ass is offended
   2: MC seems kinda dense. She’d rather put her reputation, dignity, and self-respect on the line for survival instead of just running away (or simply rejecting the MLs) like a normal person.

   I think k it’s a perk of reading to much that I don’t even notice that I read and understand things even though there are grammatical errors 🤷🏻‍♀️

    guys just cause racist beauty standards are common in a place doesn’t make it less racist. claiming that racism is inherent to that place solely because it’s common is itself racist. the beauty standards are racist and defending them is racist. to believe in a culture’s humanity is to understand that a culture is made up of people who can look at stuff like racist beauty standards and recognize that it’s stupid to judge someone harshly over how much melanin they were born with. koreans aren’t ignorant backwater recluses who can’t figure out this shit’s racist. do not paint them that way.

    Not trying to defend but explain, in south korea having tan skin as a korean is generally considered less attractive because it usually suggests you have a menial job that requires to work outside in the sun all day. They don’t find African descent people or naturally darker skin asian people like Filipinos as ugly. They also don’t really have a word for “unattractive” like we would have so ugly is probably the closest that could ever be used which is usually considered harsh for those in the west.

    Just off of the cover alone I’m already put off by it. Of course the “pretty” version is a much lighter-skin version of the “ugly” one. And from reading chap 1 ber “ugly” form isn’t even ugly 🤧😭. It’s like those kdrama protagonist that has a “transformation” from being “ugly” to “pretty”. They literally just clear their skin and make it fairer.
