Ugh, this one had so much promise, but the ending is incredibly rushed, bad, answers NOTHING, and incredibly unsatisfying. I think they must have gotten tired of their own story or lost funding. TylerReed is spot on the money – this is all too common in these. Super catchy premise to hook you in, dragged out middle for 100+ chapters, then just wrap it all up in 1-3 chapters; 5 if we’re LUCKY.

The worst part is, talented writers would absolutely do numbers with a good hook; it’s not hard to imagine what the message of a manwa with this premise could have been about — characters could have gone on powerful arcs of realizing the difference between love and obsession. Accepting how one looks as is, but learning to accentuate or take care of yourself in a way that brings out your best self…. or how about answer your own plot questions if you’re not going to do that. Tell us about this weird pheremone or magical perfume that Laila has, supposedly of some special race or bloodline. Or, what about the wolf god/spirit that lay dormant in her hubby? Explain his ‘heat’ mechanic and why it mattered. Why did painkillers from our world clear it up for him?

So many interesting threads the author just decided not to weave. What a waste of time. :/ I almost feel insulted for the manwa itself, being treated so poorly to be ended like this.

The only hope is if they pull one of those “End, but actually, not really, here’s the side stories that are actually just a plot continuation” – but we’ve heard 0 news about this one getting a season 2.

Won’t the emperor try some more schemes in order to pressure the now independent Montefeltra “kingdom” to re-unite?
Why did the crown prince take this potion himself? This does not make any sense since he still insisted until the end that he wanted to win the female lead over; he could have tried a lot more tricks just as long as he and she are still alive…
